For Jane Phillips, fiction writing is a fourth career. With a work background in teaching and psychology, she is fascinated by what makes people tick. Getting inside the head of a murderer eventually became irresistible and writing a novel about it seemed to be the safest route. She has had a stint as a journalist and has written three non-fiction books – on staff recruitment, career development and jam-making. In 2016 she completed an MA in Creative Writing Novels (Crime) at City University.
